Daniel Kahneman wrote one of the best books ever written on thinking, Thinking Fast and Slow.
The book's main thesis is a differentiation between two modes of thought: "System 1" is fast, instinctive and emotional; "System 2" is slower, more deliberative, and more logical.
He won Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 2002.
He devoted all his life to research on how people make decisions.
And then in March 2024 at the age of 90 he committed assisted suicide in Switzerland. It was publicly announced in Spring 2025.
He was healthy, although old.
I must admit it is rather strange, although his friends claim it is consistent with his research.
In logotherapy we believe that a person can find meaning at the last breath so suicide is never an option.
Thank You for great book Mr Kahneman!
